Season 2026/27
Spain Union Multisport is the association that runs the Iberian Rugby League (LIR), the competition known until last season as Liga Amateur Rugby (LAR). Nine clubs from Spain and Gibraltar are playing it this year.
New name
The league is no longer played only in Spain: in 2025/26 Barbarians Dev took part, playing their home games in Gibraltar, and this year Gib Barbarians have entered. That is why the Liga Amateur Rugby is now called the Iberian Rugby League. It is the same competition, run by the same people.

The association
Spain Union Multisport is a non-profit association listed in Spain's National Register of Associations. It was set up so that small clubs, the ones without the structure or resources for a federation league, can play rugby with fixtures, opponents and continuity.
It has 378 members and 10 clubs, and is governed by a board of directors and the members' general assembly.
